Clarity Edit Privacy Policy

Short version: Clarity Edit is local-first. It does not require an account, does not use analytics, and does not automatically upload your documents, notes, prompts, or usage activity.

Who we are

Clarity Edit is a macOS text workspace developed by Sonoma Enterprises. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the Clarity Edit app and related support pages.

Documents and local app data

Your documents remain standard files on your Mac or in locations you choose. Clarity Edit stores local metadata to support app features, including:

• Recent files, favorites, pinned documents, tags, and workspaces
• Prompt templates, snippets, local history snapshots, and settings
• Security-scoped bookmarks that let macOS grant access to files or folders you selected

This local app data is used by Clarity Edit on your Mac and is not automatically sent to Sonoma Enterprises.

Feedback you choose to send

Nothing is sent automatically. If you click Send Feedback, Clarity Edit sends the following information to Sonoma Enterprises: the feedback text you entered, the feedback category you selected, your email address (only if entered), system information (only if enabled), and a timestamp.

Purchases

Clarity Pro purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Sonoma Enterprises does not receive or store your payment card information.

Analytics, ads, and tracking

Clarity Edit does not include analytics SDKs, ad tracking SDKs, or third-party telemetry.

AI and cloud processing

Prompt templates and prompt/output records are stored locally unless you manually copy text into another app or service.

Retention and deletion

Local files remain under your control. Feedback may be retained for support purposes; users may request deletion via Sonoma Enterprises.

Children

Clarity Edit is a general productivity tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy when app features, privacy practices, or legal requirements change.
